Good morning, Okies

Doc/Hi-Jacker - thanks for changing your signature line to list your next auction. I plan to show Flemish Giant rabbits at the rabbit show in Duncan on the 19th and if I can figure out how to keep them cool enough in the car, will plan to attend the Fletcher auction that evening rather than going directly home after the show.

The folks who sell eggs there usually sell out before 9:00 in the morning.

Looked for you guys at Trivetts (sp?) last night but didn't see you. We got there around 6:30 or so. We are taking some friends there next week we think. That was some good catfish!

Ah. Sounds like some factory farm layers. They dump those things after just a year of service. Too bad they won't be able to forage at all with their beaks like that. Sad.

Hey all! 2 things...first, looking for Muscovies. Neighbor's dogs killed both females...now that the dogs are gone, I need to get my male some new friends. He is miserable.

Message me if you have any and are reasonably close to NE OK. (Like 1-1 1/2 hours away.)

Really all you have to do after you've chosen a show and entered your birds is get them cleaned up, and be at the show by starting time!

A GREAT way to get involved with a program that give you a lot of advise and projects about poultry (mainly showing poultry) is to join the APA/ABA Youth Program club. Our state leader is actually a BYC member too... Dandelion007... I think you met her at P.O.O.P.S.

All you have to do to have your flock NPIP certified is have a certified tester come out and test all your poultry. You can often get it done free of charge by one of the OK Dept. of Ag testers. Poultry and Bees puts contact information on the bottom of all her posts. If you plan to also be a hatchery or sell your eggs to a hatchery, there's more to it than that.

I'd originally planned to attend the NPIP recertification session in Tahlequah, but have opted for OKC instead; unless something comes up to prevent me from being there--then I'll go to Tahlequah.

Guinea keets are hatching as I type. Eleven have already hatched--starting one day early in my Genesis--and most of them are royal purples or slates. There is one pearl and a couple of blues; not sure which blue yet as they're not yet fluffed out. Anyone need keets?
