This is from the Duncan city code. Sorry, Grace. Maybe Marlow has a better deal for you...

=============================================================================

A. Unless zoned A-1, A-2 or grandfathered for such conditions prior to the adoption of this part, keeping of domestic birds, fowl or bees shall be permitted only by use on review as defined in the land development code1. Regardless of zoning or grandfathered status, details in subsections B through I of this section are conditions for keeping of such animals within the Duncan city limits.

B. It is unlawful for any person to construct or maintain a poultry house or pen for the raising or keeping of chickens or any other poultry within one hundred feet (100') of any house or building used for residential purposes, situated on any adjoining lot or plot of ground, in the city.

C. It is the duty of the owner or person in charge of such domestic fowl to keep the same securely confined in a suitable pen, coop, building, or enclosure. Any such fowl found running at large shall be deemed prima facie evidence that the owner or person in charge has failed to comply with the provisions of this section.

D. The keeping of more than three (3) chickens within a recognized residential subdivision on a lot of less than one acre is prohibited.

E. The keeping of roosters, geese, guinea fowl, ducks, turkeys, or peacocks is similarly prohibited in recognized residential subdivisions on lots of less than two (2) acres.

F. Any chicken or fowl or avian kept in a residential subdivision shall be maintained as follows:

1. All chickens, or other fowl, or avians shall be confined to the owner's property at all times.

2. All enclosures shall be cleaned regularly to prevent an accumulation of food, fecal matter, or nesting material from creating a nuisance or unsanitary condition due to odor, vermin, debris, or decay.

G. Every keeper of domestic birds or fowl shall confine the same in an enclosure sufficient to prevent their being at large and shall provide a shelter area of sufficient size to be conducive to good sanitation practices, and shall provide adequate sanitary drainage for the shelter or area.

H. The housing and keeping of fowl, domestic birds or bees shall be in such a manner as not to create a nuisance. Owners of fowl, domestic birds or bees will be held responsible and liable for any damages they cause within the city.

Looking for reasonably priced young pullets and/or ducks:

Am headed to Tulsa to pack my Mom's things and move her to Arkansas. (She sold her condo). I have a friend with two children, a boy 8, and a girl, 6. They are wanting some chickens. I had 3 extra Buckeyes that are about 2 months old that I have brought for them. Does anyone have any reasonably priced pullets available that are about the same age. Am at Rolland McDonalds now, headed directly to Tulsa via Muskogee. Could detour slightly. Would also be interested in reasonably priced ducks of about the same age. please call me as I will not have email at Mom's and won't have time to go to mcDonalds. Do not have texting. Need them today, or if near Tulsa, by Wed. Thanks!

hey stray how is he now? i would bring him in and cool him off, might give him some gatorade or something like it to get some electrolytes into him

I've got him inside. He's in the pet carrier with food and water. Would Pedialyte work?

Stray,

Pedialyte would probably be the best thing if it's heat related. You may have to hold him and use a cup. If he won't do it on his own, use a syringe. Also, you may give him some Poly-Vi-Sol without iron.

You mentioned he is losing his feathers, easily exhausted and cold so I'm wondering if he may have mites or lice. Those will completely drain a chicken of blood.

I hope your bird gets to feeling better soon.

City Looks like it has already shed most its limbs. It will make a good den/nest tree for critters rangeing from squirrels to coonsto bats to birds. You could always plant morning glory or gourds or even climbing roses around it. Looks like it gets some sun. Just a saying!

It is so rotten stuff just keeps falling off it - it's lost most of its bark, and all the limbs have fallen off on their own. I like the morning glory idea, though!

Has anyone used the red pepper method of worming,I know someone this morning was talking about it. I am trying it on some of mine. I couldn't find just red pepper flafes, but got some that is about half flaes and half seeds, will that work? How much do they have to consume for it to work? I just mixed it into the mash feed, would it be better to mash it in with bread or something to get a good dose?

Wayne I have a friend down South that has used crushed Red Cayenne Pepper for years as a wormer. He also butchers a few every year and has never found more then one or two worms here and there. He just sprinkles a little over their feed once a week.

We are both doing great, spent the afternoon at a junk auction and got a few good deals.

Here are the pups, these were taken last week. When we brought the pups home they were just a tad smaller then the Pug!
