We are keeping a few silkies, she has a pair of blue partridge showgirls, a nice blue roo, a blue hen, a buff, a silver colored silkie, and I have a quad of partridge silkies. We both have a trio of seramas, adn I have gotten into OEGB.

Puresilk - I suspect that there will be someone along in awhile who is interested in your bantam naked necks and silkies. What color are the silkies and can you tell yet whether they are pullets or roos? Are the bantam NNs pullets or roos?

Oh ya. I have a trio of splash silkies that came from John Fitzgerald, 1 roo and two pullets. They are around 8 months old, very nice birds, pullets have real big nice crests, just the coloring isnt quite right for the shows. I have one black (red) partridge roo, 7 months old, that is definitely a rooster, he is the head honcho, (Johns stock), lol and 1 small black silkie hen, 7 months old. The black hen has been laying for 2-3 weeks, have gotten probably 7-8 eggs from her. The naked necks are pullets, 4-5 months old.

Might have to make a trip to Cement next Saturday there is an ad on craigslist for peachicks so I can make it a more productive trip.

Here is someone in East Norman selling a Sportsman incubator, cages, chicken tractors and a stacking brooder. They say they are getting out of the chicken business. Is that possible without moving into an apartment?

If anyone calls them, I want to know whether they have a particular non-addiction program, they can recommend.

Found the Sumatra. She's at least still in the fence. She's pulled out too many feathers for our upcoming shows though.

I got all the birds over 4 months tested and tagged today so I can send in my paperwork. Taking the kids to a poultry showmanship clinic this weekend, so no swaps or auctions for us.

I need to get some pics of the chicks I got from POOPS. They're growing up so nicely.

Sarge Doc Aren't you proud of me,I didn't even chime in about those nn bantams someone had for sale! Didn't have to! P&b beat me to it!lol

Gettin close to bed time,tired tonight,been working on a pergola for our deck. Gotta get some shade out there by the pool!

Also put some small mesh netting around the bottom of the pigeon fly pen. I have the older baby chicks in the loft and now they can also go outside and scratch in the dirt. Don't know why but I have the best luck raiseing chicks on the floor of the pigeon loft. I think it has to do with the dry litter on the floor. Pigeons do better if they have some litter on the floor rather than a scraped clean one! Supposed to have something to do with the microbes in the litter. I fix a raised brooder with a light so the chicks can see to move around at night and have a warm spot if they get cold. My electric bill is going to be awful next month,four brooder lighjts going and the pool pump!Hope the wife doesn't beat me to bad!lol.
