The thumb that I bandaged with tobacco on it has regained the tactile feeling in it (it was numb but sore yesterday) and isn't sore anymore.
Two of the three stings that I rubbed MSG on are much better. They still have a red spot the size of an old fashioned silver dollar around them, but don't throb anymore and the outer redness is receding.
