It's hard to tell exactly how big it is. I would say no to 30 standard size chickens I can't remember the per foot each bird should have. If you are building the coop outside of that structure then you would be able to have a few more than if it will be on the inside. As for the height, I like it, I have one that I have to stoop over & it stinks.

I think its 4feet per average size bird of space needed but I think if you have plenty of roosts then you may not have a problem if there is plenty of out door space

Good afternoon everyone I got off to a late start last night I decided to build me a rooster fort. I got started at around 7 pm When I was Finally finished for the evening and called it good till today it was 4 am I will post pics of my work thus far to provide my Roosters with a safe comfortable Haven, built some additions to my hen coops extended there yard 25 feet. Did alot of dirt work to prepare for my vine garden. When you go to the rooster fort you will walk down a swinging bridge right by the waterfall. (its small but cute) bridge will be made out of pallets and treated with a thompson water seal with a poly urithane finish. the path will have over head gazebo type structures that arch over the walk way with my flowery vine plants. Installed A drainage system into the duck pond that feeds the little creek. Put pond liners down in the creek in chicken coop and duck pond. Did tons of ground work to get the ground somewhat leveled (its no where near straight it was 50 years of stacked up dirt and junk in this area.

I went straight to the cages took every rooster off the yard stuck them inside there new fort. and went to bed. When I awoke in the AM I walked straight to the hen house slung the door open And called my girls out. (I usually call them out threw there side door after I Open it in the mornings) They all give me stink eye as if to say "dads gone crazy" Big red ran out and shortly after all the girls are out free ranging 3 acres they were in a 25x50 foot run.

It was nice to meet a few of you at Blanchard Saturday night and put some faces with the names. I hope I didn't leave the wrong impression since I often have great difficulty starting discussions with people with whitch I'm not familiar.

Maybe next time I will visit with you more.
The trip was hard on me and I didn't even get out of bed yesterday due to the amount of pain from the trip, the walking, and the chairs. Today I have been trying to get around checking the birds but still haven't been moving that well.

It is still hot hot but I'll take 98 over the 103-105 degrees. At least cochins haven't had to have a cooler turned on them in the show/breeding barn. The air just do not seem to move to well in there, even with the big overhead door open. But I think they might have felt cooler with the watermelon I took in there for them.

Good Evening Everyone!

Boy what a day.

Drove to Anadarko, Dropped kids off at school, Went to walmart and picked up School Supplies for 3 the Kids,

Fed Monty Lunch, Picked up a few things around the house, Went back to Anadarko to pick up the kids I

dropped off this morning. And now preparing supper to feed those kids so I can put those kids to bed and have a little bit of my time....

Wow, my schedule went from busy, to really really really busy...

I'm just not use to that.

One of the kids got into trouble today for acting up in class and teacher had to call me, So I had to cancel Foot Ball Practice for him today.

UUUMMMM.... Still gotta take care of all my babies in the barn and make sure the horses are taken care of too.

WOW!

I need a brack!

Oh, okay! So it Was because of the AI testing that I only had to pay $5?

That is my understanding. When I first got into the NPIP program a few years ago, I asked about the cost and as I recall the response, it was to the effect that the Dept of Ag had federal funding for the AI testing - so as long as it lasted, they would only charge $5 per year for the NPIP certificate, because they would do the NPIP testing while they were on premises for the AI testing. I got the impression that the Dept of Ag didn't know how long the funding would last and that prior to that funding being available, it cost about $35 ???? for a NPIP certified tester from the state to come out and do the testing.

Our classes started last Wednesday. I've had so many kids change schedules that my head is spinning. My average class size is now 26. It's crowded, and we're going to have to become a well-oiled machine if we're going to clean up after projects with only two little sinks.

This week were working on still life drawings, so that's not too messy. Next week we're working on a watercolor landscape. That's going to be a challenge. I hope I don't have to bring in a mop. A few years back I had a big shop vac in my room. I took it home when it became clear that the boys were dumping supplies on the floor on purpose. They all said the same thing, "Oops!" and then they'd run for the shop vac.

Those same boys would probably never consider offering to operate the vacume sweeper at home. There is something "cool" about sucking up wet stuff with a shop vac - that boys seem to really appreciate

Hope your classes get straightened out soon. It must be frustrating to have uncertainty regarding the number of students who will be participating from day to day.
