In turkey-talk BBR is broad breasted red.

Thanks. I had heard of Bourbon Reds (BR) and Broad Breasted White and Bronze (BBW, BBB), but never Broad Breasted Reds.

Glad you're still speaking to me after my Bantams-as-snake-food crack. I was afraid I was going to have to run when I see you at the next POOPS.

I just have to share this with someone...I got a 1.5yr old Giant Dewlap Toulouse Gander yesterday evening to go with my girls. He was hand raised and show quality. Pretty Cool!

I've not had any until this year and I just hatched my girls in May. So he, Franklin, looks Huge. Just think, he still has another 1.5yrs to grow!

It will be fun, especially if I can get good fertility.

If anyone knows of any females I would like to have at least one more.

I am in dire need of some advice recently one of the silkies I got from carla has gotten sick or something She was walking but falling over as if drunk Now she just lays there feet up and crys. She is eating and drinking but I got her propped up with 2 old shoes. shes drinking like she is dehydrated. but will fall right back over if I move them. She is alo eating good. She appears to be skin and bones. Now that my meaties are gone I am thinking of locking my yard down. and running a cocci treatment I have noticed some birds with blood in there stool. Not my silkies but a few in general. if anyone can give me some advice on how to save the girls silkie I would greatly appreciate it. 405-368-4055

Matt I don't have any idea's for you other than maybe giving some boiled egg to help boost it & I'm sure you have already checked it for mites & stuff. Hopefully someone else will come along to help.

Matt, Have you wormed them lately? I would say that the immediate thing to do would be to give her some vitamins and liked Sooner said, boiled egg yolk. You might try giving her a little gatorade to give her a boost.
Do you have any type of antibiotics you can give her?

she acts like she has been neglected she is drinking more then any bird i have ever seen Got vitamins and electrolytes in water fed her boiled eggs and yogart she seems more like her back is broken. I just noticed my male goose attacking every bird in that area of the yard since the female decided to make her nest in the psture just behind the silkies area. But she seems more like she broke her legs she is energetic not lethargic. just cant walk. I have not wormed my birds at all Other then cayenne pepper in the feed. I dont use medications here normally But I am willing to do anything to save this girl shes the girls pet shes not part of my business.

Al didn't say what kind of roosters he was taking to Blanchard and since Queen Peaches is downsizing her Buff Orphington hens, she may have roos also. And of course, the "go-to" person for locating almost anything is Michael Daugherty.

Sigh I am so lost She eats very good she drinks even better She seems so active now She just cant stand. Her legs are quite strong theres no breaks that I can see no swelling. if I move her shoes that are propping her up she just falls over. She doesnt appear to be in any pain. Guess we will just ride this one out not much more I can do.
