When my sister was about 9 we used to take the scraps out after supper and throw them into the chicken pen and most times that would be after dark and the chickens would clean up when the sun came up, one evening it was her turn to take the stuff out and about half way there you stepped out of the lighted area from the security light and my black and white cat fell in along side of her and walked with her to the pen she threw the scraps over the gate and was walking back to the house and the cat stayed right beside her, just as she got into the lit area again she was reaching down to pet it and we all had to come see what the screams were about, turned out my cat was asleep in the house and the shunk was feeling more friendly than usual LOL, she didn't get sprayed or anything the "kitty" ran and hid when she started screaming and we could never get my sister to haul out the scraps after dark again LOL
