Thanks for letting me know. I'd better not rush to buy anything yet, until I know more about them. DutchChic has Nubian milk goats that I'm considering too ... I just don't know. I want one that stays cute & friendly and doesn't climb on vehicles or eat flowers!

**cough, cough** Ummmm...Carla...I had someone come by today and buy 6 of the 7 goats I had for sale. I ran an ad on craigslist last night and this guy was hot to trot! In fact, I got a ton of responses. Anyway...all I have is a 4mth old buckling left. He *could* be wethered to be a pet or pack goat, though.

LOL...I was thinking of teaching my colt or my son's shetland to drive and use that as a method to get to work. I live in the country, and work in the country about 5 miles away so it is doable. But, with the cost of feed and hay, I'm not sure if gas is more expensive or the other!

I was feeling a bit lonely up this way as it seemed like everyone else was further SW and central. Go NE!!

That's quite all right ... I'm still not ready to take the plunge toward goat ownership. As soon as life isn't quite as hectic, I'll start researching the breeds to see which will best suit my lifestyle. I want to be a responsible pet owner, and I know very little about goats. I'm still learning every day about these chickens!

That's why I didn't bother you about it. I figured you'd let me know if you were ready.

It's wise to research the goats before jumping in. I always research a new critter before I jump in...saves heartache in the long run. You wouldn't believe the people that call wanting a "nannie" and know nothing about them!

I'm in need of a Buff Orp rooster...would possibly like some more Buff Orp hens. Straight run Buff Orp chicks would be fine as well. I might also be interested in some Jersey Giants, any color but white.

Anyone have anything? I have some Silver Sebrights I am thinking of selling/trading. Two roosters and 4 or 5 hens...would have to go count them...lol.

I am REALLY wanting standard cochins, any color.
I ordered eggs and NONE of them developed.
Does anyone out there have any? I would even be willing to drive a bit, I have a little bitty car that get good gas mileage, and I can put up with chicken poo for those special birds.

I once drove to Tulsa(90 mi way) in a mini van and brought back 30 hens. I was happy as a clam to have the girls and going home but I thought my mom was going to crook before we got home.

Yep craigslist is where i sell most of my chicks. I rarely offer anything for sale on byc..too busy chatting lol. All my chicks that are for sale are from 1-6 weeks old. I have mostly black hens with one partridge hen in there so the majority of the chicks i hatch are black. A couple weeks ago 4 of my hens decided to set at once and the others stopped laying..of course..cause they are cochins lol! So until my broodys hatch their broods i wont have any more cochin chicks. Which is probably a good thing..im definitely a hatchaholic lol.
