In the spring we will go somewhere? and fill the the group out with some silkies.............

But even if not what they were suppose to be.........do love all 7 of 'em!

I hate to do this, but... Would anyone be interested in a free Sultan chick? I just know that when the chick is grown, it will have to go. I'm already more attached than I want to be.

Hello everyone,

I have a bunch of chicks hatching today! Silkies, Buff Orpingtons, Blue, Black & Splash Jerseys, and White Guineas. I don't think we're going to keep any of these since we have so many birds already, so these will be for sale. Send me a message or email if you're interested.

Also, we have nice roosters for sale that are 5 to 8 months old and crowing. I have some black roosters that could be Black Austrolorp or Black Jersey Giant or Black Marans (I wish I hadn't put them all in the same pen together!), I have some Ameraucana, Egyptian Fayoumi, Cuckoo Marans, Golden Salmon Marans, and a a few Wheaten Marans Roosters too. These boys are beautiful and purebred and most we spent a lot of money on them as hatching eggs from all over the country, but of course I don't need many roosters and I'd rather not have them for our dinner, if someone else might want them. I'm asking only $5 each for them. Otherwise, these roos will be going to auctions and will be sold for whatever they'll bring.

Also, I still have a Black Bantam Cochin (hatched from an egg from California and I think it's a rooster) and a 2 month old rare Black Orpington, (that I hatched from an egg from Colorado, that appears to be a pullet). We have Buff Orpington and Jersey Giant juvenile birds that need to be sold too, both pullet and rooster chicks. And, some white guineas.

Eventually, we'll have some tom turkeys for sale too, of Narragansett, Bourbon Red, Blue Slate, and Royal Palm.

If anyone is interested in any of our birds, we could bring them with us to an auction in the near future ... I think we'll go to the Ensign Exotic Animal Auction in Prague coming up next Saturday, September 27th, the Chupps Auction in Inola on October 4th, and the Blanchard Auction on October 11th or we could bring them to the Chickenstock in Poteau on October 25th or ????

Oh, and if anyone is interested in hatching eggs ... we have fertile hatching eggs of: Buff Orpington, Blue/Black/Splash Jersey Giant, Silkie (from show quality bloodlines) and rare Brabanter and Spitzhauben chickens.

We have got to start selling some of these birds to help pay the feed bill!

Wow have not posted in a while. Things have been hectic to say the least. Last Sunday picked up a nanny ( in milk)and 2 doelings had 2 of my pullets go broody. Had company and took a fall at Homeland ( no sign on freshly mopped isle) was on bed rest for 2 days and supposed to be on light duty ( no lifting ) for another 5 days (yeah right I have animals to take care of. Hubby started new job last Monday works 3 12 hour days and 1 half day. Its been harder for me to get used to new schedule then him, I swore it was Monday yesterday. Saturday my huuby took me to a farm auction and for a couple of things I wanted did not get the 2 things I went for but did get a vintage brower tabletop incubator. Gonna try and get it set up today. I also bought a couple of pressure canners for 4 dollars and a project dresser with mirror ( it will be gorgeous when I am finished. Hubby bought a car ( really cheap ) for a spare car cause everytime his breaks down I am stranded until he gets his running again. I will be seeling some chicks soon and a couple of bunnies. I have a rabbit hutch in the middle of construction and desperately need to get it finished by this week. And the chickens my cochins are teasing me 1 egg one day then 2 the next then nothing for the last 2 days. Hoping they are getting back into the groove. I have a pair of black cocchins standard that I will be listing soon on craigslist. I will not be going to prague this month am waiting for my buttercups to grow up so I can take them and the pair of anconas. Well that is what is going on at my place this past week.

You probably already know to do this, but be sure to check your pressure cookers using just water the first time, to be sure the seals hold and the pressure valves have the correct weighted gizmo on top. Green beans sprayed all over the ceiling through the pressure tube on top of the lid are a challenge to clean up, when the gizmos get mixed up between different pressure cookers and the weighted gizmo blows off instead of holding the pressure.

Carla....I want the black Orp pullet, and probably some buff Orp pullets. Let me know what color silkies you hatch...I might want some of them as well. Oh, and maybe a few blue JG's. I would have to meet you at Chupps.

I have a nice flock of Gold Sebrights, and Silver Sebrights that I want to sell...or trade. There are 2 Gold roosters and several hens, and 1 Silver rooster and several hens. I will get a total head count if someone is interested. They are a year old, and are molting at the moment.
