Well I'm back inside, the rain and thunder has started. Tornado warnings on tv. There will be nothing on any of the local stations as long as there is storm warnings anywhere in the middle stae! They really keep an eye on it here. Thats a good thing I guess.
Got the tomatos planted, hope its not to early. Also started some yellow cherry and pear tomatoes if flats just for fun.
Decided to get the feeding done before the rain and made it just in time. Guess I'll fold clothes and iron now.

The cold wind is kicking my butt!!! We are working on the new fencing system, the girls are not happy!!! They went from 50 x 100 to 20x 20 and got seperated.

Just for future reference, it is sometimes possible to "revive" cold kits if you can get them warm. A heating pad set on low or placing them in a container and floating the container in hot water sometimes works ( I use a ziplock freezer bag and keep the bag open). You don't want the kits wet, just warm. It is a good idea to keep an eye on her. Since she only had 3 kits, it is possible that she could have a few more in the next few days, particularly if the ones born seemed small in comparison to her size. What frustrates me is when the doe pulls fur and puts it and the kits on the wire, instead of in the nest box - or pulls fur after the kits are born on the wire.

I did a quick google search on the kits when I found the first 3, I did see a few sites that said try to warm them up, but honestly, when I looked at them it I couldn't have imagined any hope for them!

I did just go out & check on her, I see at least one more, it looks the same as the others. No sign of life, looks like it still has the cord attached. I can't see that it is breathing or anything. It is in the nesting box with her, so it should be warm. I will give her some more time alone, and hope for the best. She doesn't seem in stress or anything, and lets me pet her when I look in on her.

(I have had several litters of puppies, even had several batches seahorses, this is the first go around with rabbits!)

I understand how you feel Joe, I am sure that there will always be some that don't care for it but I think it is also a learning process considering they have never ran on in this fasion as I believe I was told that one of the main guys is from the chupps acution. I would think that it will continue to get better as it goes forward. I just know that if I were going to sale I would get my birds there early & I would mark the breed ect on the cage.

I am headed down hill. Need a nap. Had ducks in the floor this morning. Apparently they fit through the ventilation hole...but on the good side I have four more calls. All bators are filled so I need to do some candeling. Have about 6 dozen that are ready and another 6 should be able to do middle of the week...

Went to get a mag light from the car and about froze in the wind. Thought it was supposed to be calmer today...I guess 30 mph is less than the 50+ we had...

Where is everyone? Got 6 out of 9 hatched
