Well, I don't pretend to know everything there is to know about chicken auctions and don't know what things are like in other parts of the state, but Blanchard is far and away the best poultry auction in southwest Oklahoma. It has more birds, more buyers, more sellers than any of the others I have been to, and that by far. The major sellers in this region still use Blanchard, so I would be extremely surprised if they have had the same problems being complained about here. If they did, they apparently have been made whole and are satisfied with the new management team. If I see these guys stop using it, then I will know something is up. Till then it is all rumor and innuendo.

There are a couple of upstart newbie auctions that are trying to compete with Blanchard and Cement in our region, but it remains to be seen whether they will even succeed. If I don't have the two big auctions and these other ones fail, what am I left with?

Not very much.

I will continue to patronize Blanchard as a buyer because I'm very happy the stuff I have bought there, the atmosphere of the place, and the way it is run.

who's going to the next Blanchard Auction

The Blanchard auctions in November will be "off schedule" if I understood Jerry correctly at the Oct 24 auction. The first Blanchard auction in November will be November 7, which is the first Saturday and I don't recall when the next one will be in November - maybe the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I won't be able to make the one on November 7, but would like someone to remind me of the Blanchard schedule for the remainder of November.

Found the answer to my own question about what the schedule is in November for the Blanchard auction

Everyone needs to mark their calendar that the next sale will be one week earlier in Nov.
The sale will be Nov 7th then the next will be Nov 28th.

Realize that Cement and Fletcher is the same night. So there will be choices and i am having hard time deciding which one to goto HA HA
