Does any one know of any goat sales in se oklahoma, I know about wister, antlers, monroe, what others are there. thanks alot

Huddster...Not sure what breed you are looking for, but Purcell has an auction every Saturday and they do run A LOT of goats through it. They also sell cattle, poultry, horses, and misc...Never know from week to week but I have never been that they didn't have goats and sheep. Beware what you buy though. We bought a bottle calf there last year because we felt sorry for him and the vet told us that was a big mistake! He said they are notorious for runnning sickly cattle and horses. But he did not say anything about the condition of the goats. They seemed very energetic and rambunctios to me everytime I have been there. Depending on the weekend, there are some very good deals to be had. Hope this helps.

Howdy, y'all!

Allright, I am new to forums, and new to poultry so I will give this a shot and explain a little of what I am doing. Any advice would be much appriciated.

First and foremost, Like I said above, I am new to raising poultry. I purchased an incubator while deployed to Afghanistan and put it to use when I got home. I enjoy hatching eggs and raising the chicks to full grown birds. Due to space restrictions I currently only keep a barred rock hen and a little rhode island red to keep my family supplied with eggs, but will be expanding the coop soon, so more will be kept later. Everything else I have given away to friends and family. I am interested in the possibilty of selling some poultry to show my wife a little return for the hobby that she doesn't really understand. I currently have 18 black austrolp eggs in the "bator", that should be hatching on 4/20, and 24 pearl guinnea eggs on the way. I have been buying my hatching eggs from ebay and have had realatively good luck, anyone agree or disagree with this?

How old to the chickens need to be before I can consider selling them? What can I expect them to bring? Is an auction necessarily the best place to sell? I am from central Oklahoma, wellston, to be more specific, does anyone know times and dates of the Harrah and Perkins auctions? I don't mind travelling if need be, anyone suggest another auction?

I am open to any suggestions. Your advice would be much appriciated!

Age depends on wether or not you plan to ship. Price depends on breed, but I would guess around $2.00 for chicks and around $3.00 for keets. But that also depends on how you advertise or what people at the auction are looking for. Which also answers the guestion of if the auction is necessary. You can always advertise them on here in BST forum and also on Craigslist. As far as the Harrah auction it is every other Sat at 5:00 PM and the next one will be the 26th.

Also you can join in with all the other okies in the BYC Here and also check out the Okie BYC Chickenstock Here
