Well I hope its still the same date and they let us go ahead and rent it. We can get together before the date and clean it up if we need to.
If not would the alternate location have electricity too?

I made the donation jar signs up today and printed out some info sheets on pet chickens for anyone that might be new to them. I have a bunch of byc chick care sheets left from Easter so I can bring those too. I'll work on getting some plastic jars for donations too.

The fair barn is in good shape, but they have had alot of trouble the last 3-4wks with people who rent not taking care of the barn. THe lights and A/C were left on and the concession stand was flooded. I am in contact w/a couple of people on the fair board today to confirm the barn.

ETA: For June 7th the weather channel says its going to be about 95 degrees and mostly sunny. So if you plan on being outside that day wear some sunblock!

I am so excited about Chickenstock

Carla told me about it and looking at my schedule (kinda slow right now that school is out) and we are so there!

Has the fair groud barn been confirmed? I do not know anything about Poteau but am excited about this. OMG!

So if you have your birds already tested do you just bring the papers.
Could I also get a confirmation about time, fees for showing birds and competitions.
Did I mentioned I am really excited!!!

HI muesky, we would be glad to have you I will pm you my Phone Number and if you will give me a call I will get all your information and get you entered and then all you will need to do is show-up coop-in is 7:30 am to 11:00 am we are asking everyone to try to be there no later than 10:30 though and the fees are 3.00 per bird entered in the main show, 1.00 per bird entered in either of the contests. there is no fee to come and look around and enjoy the fun for all of those who may be wondering. For anyone elso who would like to enter or needs more info pm me and I will email you with all the details.

as for the silver lining we have someone who said they would sign off on the barn but there are strings and details to be worked out and I will be attending the fair board meeting to pled our case, so cross your fingers and Pray

that we can get the barn confirmed and maybe even for free. Well folks I will keep you updated just give me some time between the horse breaking out and going on a field trip to the house down the road and dogs having pups and bathing chickens I will get to you I promise.

well things are looking good we have Nearly 50 chickens entered into the show, thats more than what I even expected! Lots of people bring birds to sell, eggs to sell, lots have donated eggs for the raffles Thanks everyone, we are doing good, now all I am waiting on is for the fair board meeting tomorrow night, which with all the interest that the stock is generating we think we have a pretty good chance of everything working out as planned, tune in tomorrow evening for more information, Night ya'll. I just wanted to remind everyone to dust their birds for mites/lice after you leave as a precaution for your backyard flock.
Someone may unknowingly bring them in on their birds and you don't want to have them affect your poultry at home.
Just good biosecurity

All Ahead FUll For Chickenstock this Saturday! wooHOO yea!!!

I spoke with the fair board meeting this evening and told them about what we are doing and trying to get more kids and people involed in the 4-H and FFA and Poultry Hobby and they said great and all tumbs up for this saturday! SO everyone wash yer chickens shine their combs put on yer boots and enjoy the fun! Can ya tell I'm just a little excited!

well I will be up late tonight making coop-tags and getting somemore stuff ready its crunch time ya'll. I will keep you posted as we get even closer.
