Nice :love

If I recall Cackle does sex some of their bantams, you were able to select all cockerels for Crele?

Thank you, yours are too! I loved Ideal's OEGB although I've never shown. That Pearl was special, wish I could've kept her. They look like grey and white penguins as chicks, wish I took a pic. She almost drowned in the waterer, even though I had marbles she was the smallest. Thought she was dead but I used a blow dryer and she came back to life. She found a good home. The downside to the rare colours is they can have a smaller genetic pool causing some of the chicks to die so if you do decide to order rare ones I'd order at least two.

I think pearl is the same as lavender mottled. I might get some of them one day. I suppose this chart can be used to improve it's genetics

except OEGB instead of cochins/pekins

You bet! Cackle is kind enough to offer both genders of Crele and Barred separately, apparently since they're easily auto-sexable. :)

You're welcome, and thanks. :D Good to hear a positive review! :wee Further increases my temptation....:hmm:lol: Appreciate the ordering tip, too! :)

Perhaps you'll be able to obtain another Pearl in the future? :) She sounds like a precious, tiny, unique little lady....bless your heart, saving her life, and finding her a loving home.

Thank you Alex, and thank you Kayla for starting this thread. Love seeing everyone's beautiful birds.

This thread inspired me to make a youtube video of the pictures that I posted here.

I would love to get another Pearl in the future! My current plan is to one day order 100 assorted bantams from Ideal since I would have to rehome some of them. Since I am in Canada I would need to $100 for health papers so at least rehoming them would help with some of the cost. Then if there is a Pearl OEGB in there I will probably keep it.

Can't wait to see your bantams if you decide to post them!

I'll respond in a bit, bantamsrmyfav. :) Still excited over the new babies! :love

Oh my word, how entirely precious! Guessing the white bibbed ones are spangled? I always wondered how I would know the difference between them and BBR, now I realize they look like a speckled sussex hen I had, doh!

Are barred chicks with white spots hens or roosters? I forgot which one the rooster creles are, are they lighter or darker than females?

They most certainly are! :wee I find Spangled chicks to be quite distinctive. :love

That's what I've been trying to figure out. All remind me of Barred pullets from last year, but another BYC member thought otherwise. :) Crele cockerels are much lighter than their female counterparts. :D Love that little spot on Crele pullets' heads.
