Older bird culling - what to do?

I totally missed the “Quail” Forum  and didn’t see it mentioned anywhere in the initial post!

Yes, I was thinking chickens... I have absolutely no idea about quail or quail lifespans. Most of the wild ones here get taken by hawks, now if I could sell a quail for $35/40 a bird that would Really bump my profit margins! :lau TBH I don’t think there’s any local processors that would do them here so I could sell them. How many quail does it take to make a decent soup? So tiny... so cute... so tiny!!!
One quail is about 4 oz of meat. That's a serving. They're perfect for one meal with sides. :)

I cook for 3-9 people at a time, lol. Especially my soups and stews I do 10-20L at a time and freeze the excess. So I haven’t really looked into Quail, I will try some one Day I am sure! Sorry for the confusion... I just figured I was in the Meat bird forum like usual

Lol, Kris, I was thinking chickens, too.
I never ate quail, but I’ve been told they are tender and tasty.

Don’t know about toughness, but what we do with tough cuts = Homemade pet food, jerky or BBQ. if you have a dehydrator? A marinade with a touch of acid (apple cider vinegar or lemon juice) could soften the meat if given enough time.
