Yes, mom is barred rock and dad EE. It looks like it’s starting to grow ribbon feathers.

I’m good with single comb id for Roos…new to pea combs, e Spey with my little backyard EE mixes.

I’m terrible with combs honestly.. but to my basic understanding of chicken genetics, if only one parent is barred, you can predict some things in the chicks as far as feathers and sex.. so if you have a barred hen and a solid (non barred) rooster, she should pass the barring only on to her sons.

I was hoping hen bc when it was a chick, it had the small dot on its head and not the large dot that went down the neck…I knew the traditional id of BR chicks probably wouldn’t apply but was hoping. Especially since it’s doesn’t have the traditional BR comb. Fun to learn, though.
