I removed 8 eggs that looked clear to me last night but put new batteries in my flashlight, stronger beam. 4 of the eggs are clear, I tossed them. 4 of them have a dark murk below the air sack but still clear at the bottom. These eggs are about half and half below the air sacks. Should I keep or toss?

I have other eggs that are similar but the dark murk below the air sacks are like 2/3rds of the area below the air sack so I am keeping them to see if the chick grows more by the time the other eggs hatch.

Thanks, Sylvia

What day are they on?

Today is day 19 of the incubation. One of them is seeping toward the bottom part of the egg. Should I remove it later (after dark) and candle it? Will that tell me anything? Thanks, Sylvia

If it is seeping it is a bad egg. Carefully remove and dispose of the egg.

I did. Someone said to smell it and it smelled bad. Different from the other eggs. So, unfortunately, the little fella had to go. Thank you. Sylvia

I saw the how to candle post by Sunshine Sally and I think my photos would be darker than hers. I have 5 chicks and 8 pipped eggs. I do seem to have a problem though. One of the eggs that is pipped, the beak is sticking out but it's not moving. I can't get the chick to make a sound and when I touch it's beak, it doesn't feel like it is responding in any way. I don't know how but I think it died in the shell with the shell opened enough it can breathe. Sylvia
