I still have the block, but I shrunk out of the sweatshirt.
I love that block and have saved it to use in something. I just haven't decided what.

I remember seeing it and immediately thought you needed that. It's really cute, but I probably won't make it again. Still, never say never!I still have the block, but I shrunk out of the sweatshirt.I love that block and have saved it to use in something. I just haven't decided what.
OMG, I got my table upgrade installed and it's like having a new longarm! What a difference in control, smoothness and stability! My stitch regulator is not working quite right, but I am sure it is something I am overlooking when setting it up. I am a happy camper.
Really, how do you get it to work if not up against the edge of fabric? It has that piece that goes down that the fabric rests against. It always puckers the fabric for me if I use it across fabric. Now I have 2 machines set up so one has a regular foot and one with the 1/4 inch so I don't have to change feet. But then I have this craziness of collecting vintage machines. I used templates on my Dear Jane quilt UGG then I started paper piecing it. It will get done some yearReally? I didn't even remember where it went. Old-timer's Disease!
I use my 1/4" piecing foot for everything, even half-squares. I only use that foot and the quilting foot for absolutely everything. I have a walking foot, but I rarely bring that out. I mark a diagonal line across two squares and then, sew 1/4" on either side of the line, then cut them apart. I never sew actual triangles together if I don't have to, LOL. That brings to mind that I used to use freezer paper templates and cut around every single piece. Now I sew long lines of fabric and cut them apart, if you know what I mean. No more templates! SUCH a time saver!
www.quilterscache.com is my favorite pattern site. Here is one of the simplest star patterns to do for our new quilter.
