I still have the block, but I shrunk out of the sweatshirt. :) I love that block and have saved it to use in something. I just haven't decided what.
I remember seeing it and immediately thought you needed that. It's really cute, but I probably won't make it again. Still, never say never!

OMG, I got my table upgrade installed and it's like having a new longarm! What a difference in control, smoothness and stability! My stitch regulator is not working quite right, but I am sure it is something I am overlooking when setting it up. I am a happy camper.

Sounds good, Terrie! Glad it worked out for you. I wish I could drop in my machine so it was flush with the table. Maybe one day, Tom will make me a custom one.

I love Koala cabinets, but oh so spendy! There is a local man who custom built my kitchen center island who is going to see if he can't build me one to fit my machine. Ideally, I would like cutouts for each of my machines to interchange.

Really? I didn't even remember where it went. Old-timer's Disease!

I use my 1/4" piecing foot for everything, even half-squares. I only use that foot and the quilting foot for absolutely everything. I have a walking foot, but I rarely bring that out. I mark a diagonal line across two squares and then, sew 1/4" on either side of the line, then cut them apart. I never sew actual triangles together if I don't have to, LOL. That brings to mind that I used to use freezer paper templates and cut around every single piece. Now I sew long lines of fabric and cut them apart, if you know what I mean. No more templates! SUCH a time saver!

www.quilterscache.com is my favorite pattern site. Here is one of the simplest star patterns to do for our new quilter.

Really, how do you get it to work if not up against the edge of fabric? It has that piece that goes down that the fabric rests against. It always puckers the fabric for me if I use it across fabric. Now I have 2 machines set up so one has a regular foot and one with the 1/4 inch so I don't have to change feet. But then I have this craziness of collecting vintage machines. I used templates on my Dear Jane quilt UGG then I started paper piecing it. It will get done some year ;).

Yours must be different than mine. There is no edge on my 1/4" foot-between the needle and the part on the right is 1/4". I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. Here is mine. I also have markings on the plate underneath it.

With that, I'm off to bed, been a long day!

These are side view. The black part it is a sort of lip that guides the fabric for a scat 1/4 inch seam.

Hope to be working on piecing during the semi finals of the national cheer championships. The prelims are coming up soon and expecting my granddaughter's team to make it to semi finals and hopefully win the title for Missouri in their division. I wish I was in Florida with them.

@jeria then, your 1/4" foot is different than mine. Mine has no lip on it. Now, I understand what you're talking about. I'm don't sew, I only quilt, so I have very little machine experience. Have only been piecing about five years with a machine and quilting with one maybe two years, still learning.
