I think it's about 3 1/2 hours away. If I can convince my hubby I need more chickens, maybe I'll come. It's a whole lot easier to get a box in the mail and just adding eggs to the incubator without him thinking anything of it.

The bators are always full. Got to catch him in a real good mood.

Yes, my dark egg layers are getting alittle on the old side and that was something this spring I wanted to concentrate on- getting more. I was thinking of building/buying another coop so that I can add another breed( wellsummers or marans) and then I won't have to be searching all the time for eggs I can afford on BYC.


Feed is getting alittle outrageous. How is everyone affording it? Have you made any changes? All this hatching is great, but the chicks only get bigger and eat more and more.

Awww I'm sorry I didn't meant to hurt your feelings. I have limited space so I'm looking for some specific things. I'm not familiar with the light/coron sussex. Is there any chance they carried the barred gene?? LOL

When I have room in the incubator I was going to post to see if anybody had any type of Sussex. It'll be a couple weeks, though. I need to candle tonight looking for clears so I have some room until my next lock down on Wednesday. If I have something you are interested in, let me know.

You didn't! I just had someone asked a ton of questions and then not show up!...I mean 20 plus emails and all...and so sorry no barred gene...I understand the limited space...I can only have a few breeds..like three...

Mine are lights split to coronations. I have 5 hens, 4 splits and one coro. Covered by a Coro Cock. I have been hatching mostly Coros tho..If you are interested let me know. Thanks. Oh these are Greenfire, Rockinpaints and CJ Poultry lines.
