I had a problem recently where I sent the package out, and they sent it back, saying I had the wrong postage, and therefore 3 dozen eggs were ruined cause they didn't send them back til a Thursday, right before a holiday weekend. So I have to try to collect some eggs cause now I have two broodies...

I just had an exasperating experience with the PO. A package I sent Priority hasn't shown up for one of my customers and today is day 8. I went down there to see what could be done, and they said that Priority is not a gaurantee of anything, not delivery or how long it takes to arrive at it's destination (So what am I paying the higher rate for?). So, they are not at fault, and if it shows up in 2 weeks it is still not thier problem. If it is lost, I can fill out a lost item return, but that's it. No refund even though it is taking weeks instead of days, no gaurantees on priority. So now as a seller I am going to have to make some harsh rules about my shipping policy. The PO says that there is NO gaurantee on delivery time in any method except express.

I've had just as many (if not more) good experiences with shipping hatching eggs using UPS Ground. I've never shipped/received a damaged box with them, which is WAY more than I can say for USPS. And my hatch rates for shipped eggs have been just as good, too. It only costs a couple dollars more.

I have been considering UPS too. I already don't mark my boxes with anything like hatching eggs or whatnot because I feel they arrive in better condition that way. So UPS won't know whats in the box in any case. Perhaps for the remainder of the swap season we should all try UPS and keep track of how they arrive and how the hatches go.

I mark all my boxes as live hatching eggs, and most all the people that get eggs from me have great hatches. Most times, if they don't it's something they did, not the P.O.
