Good for you on never having one bust. We had our first break on a shipped egg this year and I was devestated! I felt like such a failure until I found out they were left in the sun on a 90 degree day. I think it exploded from getting cooked. I was mad at the USPS because we had written on the box to call for pick up, they just ignored it.
The problem with toilet paper or paper towels is that if an egg ever does bust, that paper gets glued to the other eggs and ruins more than just the one that busted. Friend of mine just got some eggs that were wrapped in paper towel, one egg had busted and she couldn't get the paper towel off of the remaining eggs, instead of just one egg ruined, the whole batch was.
