online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

I have noticed since I have been doing a good bit of trading on here some people send older eggs and I think
that has alot to do with the hatch rates. I have been getting 0 hatches to 50% hatches but
I did get 27 out of 32 eggs hatch from Dipsy Doodle Doo but all 32 developed 3 I pulled from egg and didnt make it but wow 27 live healthy chicks you
cant get awhole lot better.. your 6 out of 8 is right up there with it.. They should turn out to be really nice birds for they come from good bloodlines.
My hens are a mess from my nasty rooster tearing them apart. I took him out and put a blrw roo over them for he is much nicer to his women

.
Should be interesting colors.

I got some white leghorn eggs. I candled them today (didn't candle them when I set them). At least 4 of them have broken air sacs. I only saw 1 with definite development but it's still early.

These are upright and hand-turned but I don't see anything. The air cell is on top no matter which position the egg is in. I'll leave them until about day 7 but I don't hold much hope for those. I've had some reattach but these are almost to the point of being bubbly.

I only do that when I get those boxes from other eggs swaps. Kind of hard to get them around here out PO don't carry them. Also anyone notice that the large flat rate boxes have gotten smaller???

Also lost all my Gold neck booteds chicks

They made it to 2 weeks old and started dieing off. Don't know whats going on. I think I have 1 left. Kinda of hoping it don't make it. No point in having 1 gold neck booted.

You can sign up to ebay and go through their link to the post office website and get boxes delivered to you for free! They are all priority boxes and you can choose the sizes you need

I always pack them so that the big end is up and so the eggs can't move around.... lots of bubble wrap, etc,.. it just makes sense to me.

But, I had a shipment from a big seller on here who just laid the eggs in a box on their sides. That really surprised me, but 11/12 eggs are developing.

My hatch results this year are all over the place!

2/9
4/8
0/11 (none developed at all)
6/8

I, personally, don't think it really matters the position of the eggs during shipment. When a hen lays her eggs in a nest, they all lay on their sides...and stay that way until she broods them and begins turning them.

Edited to try to clarify what I'm trying to say.
