online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

So far DH loves them as much as I do and enjoys hatch day/S!!!

I am lucky for sure. I am the one that needs to count.. not to slow down with my hatchaholic condition of course.. more just so I know since I have a variety being raised up. A few of this breed.. a few of that... that is how I do my lockdown count now - 3 white chicks.. check 2 black ones -- check.. and so on.

I know I will need to eventually find an outlet for my unwanted roos.. one could not be as lucky as to hatch out a dozen eggs that include 11 pullets and 1 roo

but right now I am just looking forward to the end of this current school year so I can play with my chickens more...

DH is building for me...when he wants to

Probably poultry staples

You can build, if I can do it anyone can! I had to get over my 'fear' of power tools but once I tackled that it's pretty easy

I cannot read a tape measure other than whole inches & half inches.
You definitely do not want to be around when I have a hammer in hand.
Wanna guess what my dad has done for a living his (and my) whole life?

I started with power tools when I was 12. Started building bird houses. I guess I am still at it, chicken coops are bird houses, right? Just get someone to show you how to do it right, it's really fun to DIY.

You don't need a hammer, screws hold stuff together better anyway.

Well, You WOULD need a hammer for the poultry staples, but I'll be sure to keep my distance. My 'reading' of a tape measure consists of "okay, it's 4 little lines past the 1/2, so we'll make it 4 little lines past the 1/2 on the other one too"

There are tape measures that actually show numerical fractions, like 5/8 " . But whatever works. Chickychicky, is your dad a carpenter? My grandfather was. ;-)

Both my dad & grandpa were. He & my grandfather built the house I grew up in ...... My dad retired last summer

Now he just golfs

But my dad never thought my sister or I would need to do that type of work, because to him it is for a man to do. A woman's work is housework

If one of us had been a boy, we would have been taught that stuff.
