online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

I'd just be happy to have all my pens finished so all of my breeds are separate, so I could play MORE.

The pens and coops are never all finished, it is part of chicken math:-D I just bought a pneumatic staple gun, my arm hurts from pounding nails! Good job Renegaderidge! Lets hope they go for it.

I would even love to see just a marans chain! or even by breed , because we are all working on our birds and some may have lines that would be benifitual to others to improve there own stock. Im sure we can all tell you what our pro's and con's are in our stock to help improve each others. I had acuatally thought about asking around about one. Ofcourse people could offer other breeds as long as they also offer one of the breed the chain is on.

Example:

6 marans
or
6 white rocks

but not just rocks unless that is the chain you are on.

Just idea I have been wondering about.

Sounds like a good idea!

I'd like to see one for just Orps, or Sussex

We tried a gamebird egg chain once upon a time but it didn't have much action. Too many people got tired of others claiming 'good' eggs and offering buttons or coturnix.

We tried that before too, if I remember correctly it was around the same time they decided to end the swaps all together. There is a breeder directory in the quail forum that I know neither of you (Mike or Betsy) have joined, that would be one way to see who has what.

Here's the thread I spoke of. It says quail but it can be for all gamebirds. Others have listed gamebirds other than quail.

Thanks! I'll check that forum out. I figured all the buttons and coturnix would get in the way of real gamebirds. Honestly, I don't consider buttons and coturnix gamebirds because they are domesticated. Its just my opinion, but I think gamebirds are birds that can be found in the wild such as pheasant, bobwhite and chukar. Oh and wild turkeys. Buttons are more ornamental birds and coturnix were developed as a fast growing cheap quail meat.

AGAIN, JUST MY OPINION.

Button Quail are found in the wilds of China; Coturnix are found in Japan. Neither were 'developed' for anything. The coturnix have been improved upon but they are still gamebirds.
