The new USPS Regional Rate boxes are fantastic. The size B box is comparable to the medium flat rate box and can, depending on where you're shipping to, be a lot cheaper. I use those boxes A LOT. And if you're only shipping 6 or 8 bantam eggs, you can actually fit the size A box inside the B box for extra protection. The cost is based on the destination zip code. The B box has a 20lb max weight I believe.

None of the P.O.'s carry the #4 or #7 boxes, you have to order them on their site.

The regional A box uses the 2# priority pricing; the regional B box uses the 4# pricing. So if your item weighs more than 2 pounds and will fit in a Regional A box, use it. If it weighs more than 4 pounds and will fit in a Regional B box, use that. With the price of shipping, it sure makes a difference!

I don't like the new regional boxes because they're a lot thinner than the #4's & #7's. I'll use them as interior boxes but I'm not using them as actual shipping boxes. They're not corregated so there's no extra cushion if it's bumped. I used those boxes twice with poor results and decided to only use them as interior boxes. they work well for that purpose.
