LOL My poor, poor, polish hens. They have no man, of their own breed for them.

Mary, I WILL be placing them soon. I have them in, with my bantam partridge frizzle cochin roo, right now. Making some VERY VERY cute little babies. Once I'm able to find some partridge cochin hens for him, I will let you know....as I will be placing them, at that time...since I don't breed polish.

You have seen the pretty silkie/polish babies, they made for me. These little frizzle mixed chicks, are just the cutest!

I don't think I have over 100 now........I did have.....

I still did not count, but I can tell you I have these in adults, youngsters, & chicks:

Silver Sebrights
Old English Games
Silkies
EEs
BSLs
Bantam Cochins
SLWs
BLRWs
Marans
Barred Rocks
Golden Comets
BTW Japanese Bantams

I know I have missed some....especially those lil chicks I have gotten from TSC's bantam bin & those in the incubator & hatcher.

I may have 100 total chickens. MAYBE..

Quail, turkeys, and ducks out the wazoo, too.

If not for the dog killing so many, I would be at 150!!!!!!!

ETA: Feed bill........ I will say just in chick/turkey/quail/duck food, I go through about 700-800 lbs a month. Depending on how many chicks & ducklings I have at the time.

I don't even understand why they care how many we have. I mean, I build all the coops, runs, tractors and do all the feeding, watering and poop shoveling. Why do they think they need to keep track? My DH thinks I have 500 chickens, I am sure I don't have that many. Anyway, I enjoy them, even if he doesn't . So he gets to go on vacation and I don't . Well, vacations are over rated anyway. All that driving, bah, who needs it? I have coops to build so I sure won't be bored. Today I almost finished the run I have been working on. Just add.hinges, a lock and a few trim boards so coons can't reach in small slots where the run attaches to the coop. Trenches done, wire stapled on, top done. 8'X8' square. And I am putting in a chicken garden so grass will grow. Did you ever notice those poultry staples are just a little too short to nail in without bashing your fingers? I have an electric stapler, but it is getting old and the staples don't go in far enough
I don't trust those flimsy staples much anyway.
Saturday is the poultry auction in Scotts Hill. So I will load up the truck with surplus roos and go have fun looking at more chickens
Wanna go?
