online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

I sold some chickens today, four roosters and three hens! And tomorrow is the auction so even more will go. The "bad" thing is, when I went through the chicks in the brooder, almost all were keepers:jumpy . I did manage to get some buff orp chicks to sell. And I have two more fish tanks full of chicks that just hatched in the garage to sort out. Helps pay the feed bills.
Sign ups are open for the monthly egg swap, I love getting those surprise packages !

Every time Oberhaslikid offers her Lav Orps up on one of the egg chains - I MISS THEM!

I hope you do win, I love my lavenders. I can hardly wait for more to hatch. Prices were pitiful at the auction today, I guess everyone was out of town for the long weekend. Hard job getting $1. for eating eggs. They had a pregnant llama that sold for $60. I would have bought her, but you know how men are, he would come back from his vacation and want a divorce! So I got a small check, and I was glad I didn't take any more chickens to give away practically free. Then had a lady with two kids come looking for chickens . She wanted my 6 week old buff brahmas, and thought she was going to pay $1. for it! No, that is not for sale, sorry.

People are nuts.
So I tried to use the new pneumatic mailer I bought. Tested it in the garage, worked fine. Load it on the Mule, cart it to job site in chicken city, will not work, compressor quit. Argh! Back to nailing staples in by hand.i did manage to finish one panel of the run for the leghorns. Then the ground needed clearing since there was an old bale of straw sitting there from before we bought the place. So I carted off some and burnt the rest. I have so much fun. I was thinking I might go down to the Tennessee River and do some fishing for my vacation since I have to mind the critters. What are you doing this weekend?

My son and I went fishing on our pond today. That lasted until I got tired of getting hit in the head with a bobber and unwrapping his line from the tree he insisted on getting tangled up with every time he needed re-baiting. Then we came back up to the house and planted some almost-dead flowers from Mother's Day...hopefully some will survive. Other than that, not much going on.

I really need to make some pens for my serama, they should be in pairs or trios at most. Right now I have 1 pair in one pen then 4 roos and 7 hens in another

They get along okay but it's hard to 'control' the breeding like that.

I'm selling my call ducks - both pairs! because i need their pen for my Bantam Salmon Faverolles

They are nice ducks, but I'm not doing much with them. They're from Charlie Holdums lines, so if ya'll know of anyone looking for call ducks, nice quality ones, too, send them my way!!

One pair of grey pied and the other pair is a grey pied drake over a blue fawn pied duck.
