online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

DH is not so happy about the tool issue because I am always taking them someplace and keeping them there instead of putting them back. But most of the tools are mine anyways. And we have multiples of essentials like hammers, pliers and screwdrivers. He mostly stays in out of the heat right now. He recently discovered a handsaw that got dumped with a bunch of old hay from the back of the Mule. It was very rusty. I was wondering where that went...
Hey Cyd, did you candle those eggs? I have not even had a minute. Lmk.

I got my RN pheasant eggs today. Darn PO was suppose to deliver them saturday. The track n ship's estimated delivery was for saturday. They came from GA, went to AR then came here. They went past me then back to me. I don't know who decides on the routes but thats just stupid. They should have gone to nashville then to me not past me to arkansas.

Yeah and I totally sent those out way before saturday! I mean seriously?! Why do they send stuff halfway across the country before you get them? Ten to one that thats how they were broken! STUPID PO

:heIt's a nightmare with the PO. I am trying to find out from TWRA about a permit for quail. I call them at 11:00. Everyone is at lunch. I call at 2:30, I get voice mail...and they wonder why people get annoyed. You just can't get an answer to a simple question. Maybe I should check with Walmart. THEY probably know !
I picked a bucket of plums to feed to the chickens. Some loved it, some were not so sure. The goats like them too, as does DH. Most of them fall off the tree and get bruised. The ground is covered with them out there. They never last long, though. We do better on the apples. The deer eat all the peaches every year. Wish we had a 6 foot fence around the orchard.
so I am working on a run for the other side of the duplex. I built one panel so far, and got wire on half. I also dug a trench on the outside of the other run to bury wire in, and did that . Had to come in for lunch, and a drink. I tried to fill my water bottle at the well, but once again it is not working because someone figures wiggling the wires works.

You will need to wait about 2 weeks after you take out your mailman rooster before you offer eggs as purebred:)

Jeepchick My daughter raise Jap bantams - what kind do you have. She mostly has black mottled but has a few btb, white, wtb. and we hatched some blue/splash japs we got from an auction and now have a frizzle!

One of the farm stores has BBB turkey poults. I wanted to get some sooo bad because I have no luck with hatching turkey eggs. But there where some that looked as if they where dying and the brooder they where in was nasty. There where alot of poults that where plently lively and they where asking $5 each. I think I figured out how to pick a pair but i'm not sure. We went Saturday and they have been on my mind since. I know it's probably not safe to buy any since there appeared to be dying ones in there and it wasn't kept clean. That farm store usually takes better care of their chicks. I was surprised to see how thick the poo was and they used that cobb bedding so it looked worse.

Somebody tell me I did the right thing before I end up back there getting a couple.

Well, I am not going to tell not to!...You could ask for a few extra....and keep them in a safe place away from all your birds and when they are healthy you will be all set!

Go for it!

sorry Em, cant say dont but i would be wary, I would try to get them to make you a deal. I did that once earlier this year, my feedstore had ducklings and at the time only one of the duck eggs I had under a broodie hatched, so she was hanging with a few chicks, not happy chicks lol. He wanted 7 each I was like... uh... no. LOL I said if he gave it to me for 3 I would take it and he did. So try to bargain or negotiate with them. They might give em up for cheaper just so they dont have to clean up after them anymore!
