Aspen, if I could ever get mine done, maybe. But of course , I never get a day off. Like today, I cleaned garage all day. Got half of it done. I also moved the silky babies into the barn. I think the mice in the garage are mad, I messed up their habitat. Hopefully they will all move out. I am thinking of looking at some more light Sussex tomorrow . Guy has a trio for sale. Since I am going to make the separate pen, I might as well have a couple more hens.:)
My goal tomorrow is to build another panel to start the new run. Have to ship some eggs, might as well go buy more chickens. I am afraid they are all going to quit laying, so many of them are starting to molt. Oh, I just have so many projects to do! I need to clean out that grow out pen and add sand, move more young chickens , finish the new silkie pen... And I need a nap and some rest badly.
I am so happy with my Speckled Sussex girls, six of them laid in the new nest box today! They got extra treats, I went to the bakery outlet yesterday . They love that chopped bread.
DH is going to Florida on Friday, I am staying to take care of the critters and to try and get some more projects done.

well,it's kind of my own fault for hatching so many chickens, but don't tell anybody:-D ps I sent you the pic of the quail, you can even see the paint on my fingers!

Four years ago, if anyone told me I would be driving a pick up truck, wearing a camo ball cap with a built in light to shoot varmints, I would have told them they were nuts. But here I am, farmers tan and all, so yeah red neck is about right. All my clothes I wear regularly have paint on them, as does my trailer because I often use it to hold lumber while I paint it. Sent you a pic of my round quail brooder with the big hole where the dogs busted in. You can see my pickup in the background! I love my truck with the 8' bed for hauling lumber, feed, wire, chicken cages, goats etc. Pretty soon I am going to have to go get a load of hay so I can fill the loft for winter. Love that V8, baby can haul a$$.:-D

They either killed them all, or they took off for parts unknown, never to be seen again . That's why I don't have eggs now from quail. However, it was the straw that broke the camels back, and two out of three of that pack are now ashes! I suspect at least two were eaten, since there were feathers lying around:-(
We could be related, you never know. I am told I have German, English, Irish, Polish and American Indian blood. How about you?
I had a very hard time getting up this morning. Very stiff, maybe I will get a hot bath. Once you hit 50 , it is downhill from there.:p

Oh no. 16 more years for me. I thought it was once I hit 30. I never broke a bone until I was 30 and I also got a air care flight from our hospital to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics when I was 30.

On a side note, I'm enjoying my day. 3 of the 4 classes that I teach are having "Surprise" Birthday parties for me today. I say surprise because we can't have parties so if they are surprises, then we are ok. These 3 classes asked me to leave for a few minutes yesterday so they could finish their plans. LOL
