Then they aren’t going to lay as much as the days are getting shorter if you want them to lay your going to need to give them a light wether it be led or whatever they need at least 14 hours of daylight to lay

I have none this is my first winter with quail as well but I’m sure @Nabiki or @Kiki should be able to help

Also, I've noticed Athena only lays after dark. Can you explain why they need 14 hours?

I do not know why but I do know that they need it.

I don't count the hours of sunlight my birds get each day.
I don't have added light on them and they are all laying daily.

They are not housed inside.

All of my birds lay in the late afternoon.

Does this include letting them out of the hutch? Should I merely feed and water them daily? How often should I clean the hutch? (it has a sand floor and I scoop it like cat litter).
