Ok, i thought so. Just to note, this is the 1st day this has happened. I check/clean the poop out a few times daily and change bedding once a day so it hasn't gone unnoticed, it's just the 1st time this has ever happened.
Edit: Oh and I appreciate everybody helping me out so late in the night.
Yep, they do that at least daily. That really does look like the daily cecal poo. Sometimes it can be a real reddish brown color, other times it's much darker. There is such a huge range in "normal" chickie poo that it can make you crazy when you're worried about them. Did you say whether or not they've been eating anything other then chick starter? If they've been getting any treats they need some grit too so they can process them.
So just keep the food out over night and if the poop is red then follow what Kittymomma for coccidiosis. Most the time if you have a knowledgeable feed store they will be able to point you to the right stuff. Are these your first chicks?

Nothing other than starter and their water. Sometimes I read into things too much and scare myself. So it be me over obsessive paranoia. I also noticed the cecal poo isn't always brown like this on that site. They have had some very wet light poop once or twice a day.
Edit: Yes they are my first chicks.
I type too fast haha.
I am going to get to bed. I will update you on the chicks in the morning. Goodnight and thanks so far.
Cool! I really think that they're fine. If you're still up in a couple of hours and their crops have went down go ahead and put their food back. Don't be surprised if their crops balloon right back up, they'll probably stuff themselves after going without for awhile. You're doing great, it's stressfull when they're so little.
Edit: Night, I really do type too slow. I'm trying to explain Olympic games to my 9-year old at the same time though. lol, excuses, excuses.
Chicks still kickin and lively. The crops went to normal so I put the food back in and they ballooned right back up. Drinking and eating normal still so all looks good.
