Opinion on Automatic Chicken Doors

I agree that the Ador seller can be quite rude. A few months ago I was researching automatic openers and I came across this response to a customer complaint on BYC (screenshot attached): https://www.backyardchickens.com/reviews/adorstore-ador1.11516/#sc-comment-6965

After seeing that I decided I couldn't support the company and I ruled out the Ador.
I'd be interested in how that ended up resolving (buyer last mentioned wanting a refund but no further comments) - reasonably, you'd think after spending $200 on something faulty, the buyer would contact the company to make things right, but... who knows.

For me, I wanted a door with a timer and was guillotine style (which knocked a number of options out), so I just went with the door that fit both criteria.

I got the omlet automatic door that works beautifully. I've had it for a few months now and had no problems with it.
Me too. I have the same Omlet door! One is grey and one is green. Reliable, always on time and I absolutely love them. Plus a fair price without breaking my bank account. I had alittle struggle figuring out how to change the light sensor times to My set times but other than that, it came mostly all ready to mount.

New to this forum. Time for an auto door. Have done research. Wanting an actuated or screw version, must be solar due to remote, light sensor w/ delay/timer options, and over ride manual switch. Any model suggestions and past experiences are appreciated at this time, price is no issue. Thank you in advance.

Did you read through this thread? A few great options in it

HI all!
From WI, and am currently in process of building a "supercoop"! as my DH calls it. :celebrate
I'm overwhelmed by so many options and opinions but a couple that I've looked at from these recommendations that was a concern to me was the limited operating temps. I have to have a door that operates in the subzero winter.
It will be under a roof but not heated. the wall next to it will have hardware cloth for 1/3 of it allowing for a bit of weather to blow in.
I prefer a daylight sensor and a timer and ability to manual override.
anything fit this that you know and have experience with?
need at least dimensions asap as the wall will be framed in tomorrow. TIA

The T50 does seem to have a unique design with good options.

Amyb, I have no experience, and can only imagine how you should configure this door, but I only remember the Omlet Universal quoting a -4 degree test, not that that is low enough, but all I recall. good luck. maybe others in you state would have a better suggestion, for sure.

I have an Ador and it works great. The light sensor is perfect for us and it does have an override button, in case I want to open/close the door manually. I also like that it runs on a lantern battery. I've used the original one (that comes with the door) for over a year.
How does it handle the cold? I'm in Montana, -15 to -20 a few times over winter.
