IIRC, Murray McMurray's Cuckoo Marans are clean-legged, but their White Marans are the French type.

Unless they changed this year. I haven't gotten my paper catalog yet and haven't looked online.

Just ordered from Mt Healthy and have 8 chicks coming at the end of March. Warning they don’t let you select your ship date like many other hatcheries! I wanted them later because I live in CO and the weather is generally cold and always unpredictable. That said they’re shipping 3/29 which is the same date I got chicks last spring with zero losses in shipment (featherloverfarms wont be purchasing from there again for reasons other than shipment)

I ordered 2 of each of the following:
Americana
Olive Egger
Welsummer
Unique and Rare surprise chick

Currently I have Silver Laced Barnevelders that will be 1 in March and a Polish Roo

You can request a different ship date. There’s a drop down tab that says “want a different date?”

My Mt Healthy order is scheduled for June. You can try to call and have them change it if you prefer a later date. They are super friendly & accommodating.

Placed my first order today with Cackle. The earliest Hatch / Ship date for the breeds I chose was 7/31 ! But, I’m going to stay plenty busy finishing my Coop ( more on that later).

Not ordering, but 4 Japanese eggs under a broody hen! Woo. She had 8 but that was way to much for the poor girl so i took 4 out.

What does TSC usually have in store? I was having trouble finding much info online about that. All I kept seeing was what you can order from them online.

Ours,in louisiana usually has a bantam bin, andalusions,easter eggers, cornish cross, leghorns, lots of leghorns ( lots most of older chicken keepers here free range almost exclusively ) and then every week its a wild guess

Ours in western PA always has sex links, but after that it does seem to vary by year, maybe based on what is most requested. I have often seen Orpington and Rhode Island Reds.

You really have to go to the store and see. In the prescott area they have sex links, barred rocks, rhode island reds, mostly the common breeds. They cycle through, having a different 5 or so breeds every week.

Ok. Our closest is a couple towns over, so wanted to get a general idea. Looks like maybe I should try calling closer to when I would be headed there. But good to know it is typically the most popular/common layers and heritage breeds for the area it looks like. Which makes sense.

They arrived! all 10 assorted sapphires (gem, splash & olive egger) from TSC/Hoovers. Some do look a bit wobbly but several drank and ate voluntarily, I just dipped a few beeks to be sure.

I finally got mine from Hoovers yesterday, all 15 are live and well! Very spunky and some are extremely friendly. I got 5 barred rock hens, 5 light brahma hens, and 5 brown leghorn hens. I do have a question, should I be wiping their behinds daily to avoid pasty butt? And, are brown leghorn chicks known to be sort of spicy? Lol they are bullies (I know they are finding their pecking order right now) but they are the least friendly out of the bunch.
