Awesome! I hope you got at least one pullet in the mix. My two are funny and soooo big already! They are as big as those two cochin mutt mixes I got from you in May and they are only a couple months old! Looking forward to the email....

I knew I couldn't leave my "want" as nothing

Laura, want to make sure I've got it right - you want cochin pullets and buckeyes added to your want list?

Sorry! Getting confusing here

No, not the Buckeyes. I gave Jen 4 of my Buckeyes and I was just asking how they were doing. Cochin pullets yes - standard or bantam, any age even past laying age. I just love them.

Thought this would be easier since I have rehomed a rooster since I last posted

Wow it looks so awesome to see such a short list of roosters finally LOL.

Zoomummzy

Have - 1 Black Tailed Buff Japanese Bantam cockerel - 4/11/10
**he is iffy but I'm going to leave him on the list for now. We'll see if he behaves.

2 OEGB cockerels - Black Breasted Red (BBR) - hatch date 5/23/10
2 OEGB cockerels - Crele (for sure) - hatch date 5/23/10

These are all pets - not for your table.

Want - Cochin pullets - standard or bantam - any color or age as long as they are girls. I don't even care if they are past laying age
Anything Splash or mottled (looking for different colors for my flock) - pullet only
Black Tailed Buff Japanese pullet - young (3-6 months?)

The last one is a long shot but I just lost mine this week

If I decide to keep the rooster, would be nice to have a pair again.

I can make a trip up there once I see what Curt's schedual is. This is so very nice.

On another note, I only have two of the Cochin eggs left. Six were clear, and the others died around day 12. I am seriously fried trying to hatch shipped eggs. I know people do thier best, but the P.O. just can't seem to not shake them. Every box I have ever recieved (lol, well, it's only been three) has been dented and obviously not "handled with care." All of them have had detatched membranes. Turns into so much money for just a couple chicks, or in the last case, one duckling. You buy hatching eggs from time to time, how does it work out for you?

I've actually had pretty good luck, my PO is awesome though - my mail carrier has even delivered me eggs on her way home in her own car because she noticed my box had been misrouted and she didn't want them sitting there an extra day!

I seem to have a really hard time hatching eggs that come through Texas...

If you want to try having some cochin eggs sent to me, I'll try hatching some for you...I had fantastic hatch rates from shelleyb1969's b/b/s mottled cochin eggs...

Your mail carrier sounds great! Thanks for the offer, I will keep it in mind for the future, though I have to say with oregonJen so close I think I would just order Bantam Cochins from her if I decide to get more. I am thinking I maybe should've ordered from shelleyb1969 like you suggested....

Oh Oh can I come?

I don't mind pitching in for cost either

Here's my list:

Have:
Blue/Splash/Black Silkie x Phoenix Cross Chicks
Genetic Hackle Stock Cockerels (Boatloads I'll probably put some up here on BYC too)
2 Sumatra Buff Wyandotte Cross Chicks (looks like two pullets)
Possibly blue modern bantam chicks (in the bator)
Splash MGB Cock (only if someone wants/needs him)
Possibly some cuckoo and bbs silkie chicks
Could bring a dozen split lavender silkie eggs
Could bring some cuckoo silkie eggs (only if the girls kick into action tho)

Want: Nothing but my resolve might just fail when I'm there............

And if someone wants any of these before feel free to pm me

Chickboss, I have some bantam cochin eggs I could bring to the swap for you. My rooster is a mille fleur cochin, and all but one hen is a cochin (the exception is a chocolate brown silkie). The cochin hens are black, splash, mille fleur, and buff, red, and black frizzle. I've lost chickens to predators over here and it just breaks your heart, so I'm glad to do anything I can to help you rebuild your flock. Cheers!

I'm interested in your silkie Phoenix cross chicks but I have to have a girl. I've been rehoming roos (over 25 now) since the spring so no more, please no more lol. Do you have photos? How old are they...or will they be at the time of the swap? Oh and how much?
