Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Thank you

Walltenters, there is usually only a jar when a fee has to be paid for the event...

And yes, there is electricity and heat in case we need it!

I wonder how many of us "vendors" are going? With the farmers market, we pay an annual membership and a percentage of sales too.

I'd be happy to pay a fee to set up my tent and offer my birds/goods for sale. I would be happy to accept chores also. If we are all in this together, we should share the burden, especially with finances and responsibilities. I will bring a broom, hehe.

If the rent+expenses is divided by the number of vendors, that should cover it. right? What's that work out to? $5-10? Any extra can be used for the next swap.

I do not care for the raffle myself (unless there is a particular item I want, so feel free to make me eat those words), but I still think it is a good idea and it can have a good draw, and I'd be happy to donate something for it.

We should have a jar and a raffle. That way all bases are covered. People can give if they don't want to partake in a raffle and then we can all donate things for the raffle for those who do like them. I don't think the idea of a small fee for table space is a bad idea either. And I'll bring the dustpan if you've got the broom gnarley!

Hi everybody!!

I know this is somewhat late,

I should have had my head with me during the swap;

but does anyone (semi-close to Vancouver) have any Silkie pullets available for me to buy?

Color doesn't matter, show quality doesn't really matter. I would like 2 or 3 if available. Let me know and I will pick up (if not too terrible far) I have 1 baby silkie that is a couple of weeks old (I did get that one during the swap) and I would like a few more (close) to the same age (sorta, kind-a) I have an outside area for them when they are big enough, I just need buddies for my little one.

He is being 'raised' by my Serama couple at moment.

Which is cute, but I think baby is going to outgrow his 'nest'. He/she can't be by itself!!

I had 2 that I had purchased at feed store, but don't quite know what happened.

So if anyone out there has silkies, give me a quick shout out

(email would be ok also) and I will get back with you.

Thanks! My 2 caveats are... the weather, I shrivel like a flower in the heat! Or some unforseen family thing. Otherwise, I'm game (get it? hehe).

I will need to bring some strange things...

There are a couple of people with very nice silkies in the Vancouver/Portland area, Kelar and feathers4fun (I think is their BYC name) and new2chick has some sizzle chicks. Very nice people...of course. Anyone else I'm not thinking of...please forgive me. I just took some benadryl!
