Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

I'd still like the buttercup though if she is available?

On a separate note, I spent hours in the grocery store today buying cheesecake ingredients - Sunday begins the cheesecake frenzy

I'm pretty excited to start making them; I love baking cheesecakes! I also have quite a few new ones that I've never tried before - really cool ones! - that I'm planning on bringing to sell too. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I think you'll like them

If you haven't already ordered one or decided which flavor you'd like, now is the time. I need to have all of them made the weekend before the swap as I have college visits planned for most of that week with my daughter.

@ Zoomummzy
I will hold the buttercup pullet for you.

Thank you!

You did do a bad thing by bidding on the little rooster

. When I saw yr post, I had to go look at him and of course looked at the rest that she had up for sale. What did I find but a frizzled hen named "Checkers"

I raised and showed Checkered Giant Rabbits all over the country for over 25 years, but no longer have them. I'm trying to convince my DH that it was "FATE" to see that add, but don't seem to be making much headway.

If you like mash, Patriot Farms sells 50lbs for about $12. It's not 'officially' organic. The're up in Winlock. We usually stop and get several bags on our way back from Seattle. The organic I get is Payback. I either buy it from Concentrates, Naomi's or Aloha. I think the prices are all really close, about $25/5olbs. I think there is someone on CL up in Camas who blends bulk feeds.

It was nice meeting you today!!

Just be careful of them paper towels....

The paper towel was just for the phot....to keep them from messing on the carpet.

Their brooder just has pine shavings. They are doing really well. Happy and active. We are really enjoying them. Wonderful little chicks! Thanks again.

Clueless side note - is there a concern with paper towels? Or just an inside joke. Thanks all. On this chicken swap stuff - how do you guys avoid "buyer fever" and the fear that there won't be any chickens left by the time you arrive
