Thank you for the great info!Probably depends some what county you're in but here at least (Wash Co.) you can sell eggs, if untampered, direct to consumers. Nothing egg based like quiche or cheesecake can be sold without licensing.
As far as chickens go if selling them live it's no different than any other small scale business. If you want to sell meat chickens processed then you can sell up to 1000 birds a year but they have to be only dressed and in clear packaging and properly labeled. No cutting them up into quarters or de-boning.

http://www.oregon.gov/ODA/programs/FoodSafety/FSLicensing/Pages/Eggs.aspxHi I have a few questions; Can I sell eggs without a permit to people? Do I also need a permit to sell chicks and chickens?
P.S nice to meet you Grey
Winter is here, indeed.Hello and brrrrrr from Oakridge!
Winter weather advisory for the passes this weekend, with snow levels dropping to 2500 feet on Monday. Cuddle up chickies -- 31 degrees is too cold to hold grudges against the lowest on the pecking order. (I worry about that.)
Hello, neighbor! I'm just down the road from you in St Helens.Hello all
I'm in Deer Island. Right on the Columbia River. I currently have ducks, rabbits, dogs and a cat. Chickens and goats are next.

Sorry I'm just seeing this. How much space (feet by feet) will they have? There are lots of ways to entertain your flock....some you buy, some you can diy....hanging a head of cabbage (think chicken tether ball that is edible), tossing in a flake of hay, bag of leaves you stored away, etc for them to scratch in, putting in and then rearranging some roosts, stumps, a pallet on blocks, etc. Honestly I think folks are surprised at the conditions chickens will choose to go out in that first year, their idea of intolerable is different than ours.
