Oregon

Hi I have a few questions; Can I sell eggs without a permit to people? Do I also need a permit to sell chicks and chickens?

P.S nice to meet you Grey

Probably depends some what county you're in but here at least (Wash Co.) you can sell eggs, if untampered, direct to consumers. Nothing egg based like quiche or cheesecake can be sold without licensing.

As far as chickens go if selling them live it's no different than any other small scale business. If you want to sell meat chickens processed then you can sell up to 1000 birds a year but they have to be only dressed and in clear packaging and properly labeled. No cutting them up into quarters or de-boning.

Thank you for the great info!

Hello and brrrrrr from Oakridge!

Winter weather advisory for the passes this weekend, with snow levels dropping to 2500 feet on Monday. Cuddle up chickies -- 31 degrees is too cold to hold grudges against the lowest on the pecking order. (I worry about that.)
Winter is here, indeed.

Hello all
I'm in Deer Island. Right on the Columbia River. I currently have ducks, rabbits, dogs and a cat. Chickens and goats are next.
Hello, neighbor! I'm just down the road from you in St Helens.

Hello! My rabbits and chickens (and dogs and cats) free range together in the yard, and since the wicked rooster has been re-homed, its been very peaceful -- except the rabbits LOVE the chicken's layer feed! It's pretty funny to have chickens and bunnies running at me full speed when I go to fill the feeders. Then they all share the food -- very kumbaya. (sp?)

I would *love* to have goats, but I'm in city limits. I'm pushing it with the number of chickens I have as it is......
