I rehomed a couple so I was down to six... and then I ended up with a few that hatched and some from Wilco! So now I’m at 16. I also have eggs in the incubator!
The Golden Laced are Thelma and Louise, Frankie is the barred rock, and the babies we named before we knew the genders— Kevin is the blue orpington (pullet), Angela is the lavender Orp ( I’m guessing cockerel), and Dwight other lavender orp (who I’m hoping is a pullet but I think is a cockerel).

The newest babies:

Ah, yes, chicken math!
I was at 7, sold three on Tuesday....so down to 4....15 set to arrive tomorrow. Of the 15 4 will go to their actual home Saturday (did a combo order to reach minimum order numbers)....8 are "mine" and three are some I'm brooding for my sister. Of my 8 the current plan is to keep 4, sell 4....plus sell 1-2 more of my current flock....putting me back at 7. I also have at least two more to brood for my sister when they arrive and maybe a few banties for my mom. I'm avoiding wilco because I know I'm weak, lol

It's scary, but that made total sense to me.

My breeds will be arriving at Wilco on February 23rd. I know I shouldn't, as there are SO many other priorities.....but....... And they make me so happy! It's not like it's heroin or something! Sigh.

Hey, is it snowing on anyone else today? I'm in Oakridge, and it's been snowing all morning, but it's not sticking.
St Helens here ....big, fat flakes coming down hard but ground too wet to let it stick, melting on contact so far

This was posted in a local group.....there's a trail that runs from scappoose to vernonia, I have to guess this is closer to the vernonia end....

It's really starting to come down here. A lot! My chickens are just a year old, and have never seen snow before. They are perching on the patio chairs (covered patio) clucking. Silly babies. They could be in the warm coop, but no, they choose the windy patio.
