I want to go organic..... but how long does a chicken have to be fed organic feed to be considered organic.....and if they are adult chickens and go organic late in life can they still be considered organic....

Please HELP!!!!!

panhandle of NW Florida

The USDA Regulations for Organic Chickens require chickens to be feed Certified Organic Feed from the 2nd day of life

thank you......that answers my question but doesn't help my cause.....lol guess i need to start over with a new flock if I want to go organic.....otherwise I can just stay fresh backyard eggs

You can also say fed organic feed & it will make a difference to some people. There is no claim of organic there, just that you feed organic.
