Other Than Chickens, What Do You collect?

Cats. Not really by choice. My former elderly neighbor just fed them. This resulted in a massive amount of kittens, some abandoned. He knew we had 2 indoor males, so he started bringing kittens to me. I couldn't say no...

Fast forward to me and my family hand raising kittens, getting my residence designed as a feral cat colony, getting the neighborhood to help catch and fix the breeders in the neighborhood. It's been 3 years since we've had any kittens around. Thank goodness!
WONDERFUL! I got sucked in a bit, too, but had to cut way back due to "Life and finances" getting in the way. It came to a head the year I had 29 fosters come through my home - and that doesn't include the four "foster fails" that found there furever home right here! I now just help at adoption events, on supply runs and at the shelter when I can.

Rocks. I have collected a large amount of rocks. And I love telling people “yes, that is a box of rocks” when they are complaining about loading it into a moving truck. 😆

In my defense, most of them are fossils, lovely mineral specimens and geologically interesting things I have collected in the field. I can remember where and when I collected each one. I don’t have the space to actually display most of them or I would.
You could try @Fluffy_Butt_Hutt's Knick=knack jar idea! You could use boxes or baskets, too - anything to unify the look. Group similar items, treasures found at a single location or on a specific trip, sort by color, age, all sorts of options; paste a list of what's inside, on the back, or matching-style labels all along the front (or tuck it in the box/basket,) and Voila' - a catalogued collection!

Oh they are already in boxes and baskets and crates, etc I just have literally no space for them. A lot of them are pretty big—like the size of a cantaloupe. And some are very fragile so they are either in a cabinet or in their own special box. I have lots of cigar boxes full of rocks 😆 But my actual house is way too small to be displaying rocks when I need space for my shoes. Not that I collect shoes, per se…🤔

Seeds. Lots and lots of seeds. The most recent ones I’ve got (as in 2 days ago) were 5 types of micro dwarf tomatoes. I plan to grow them inside over the winter.
