OUR CHICKS CAME EARLY, wait scratch that, our corpses came early =( -updated with pics-

I don't think the fact that they came a day early had an impact on them not making it. It's the temperature drop that killed them. Even more likely, they went from warm building, to unheated truck, back to warm building. Probably several times. And, possibly, along the way, well-meaning people put them next to the heat because it was cold. That means an even greater temp. swing when they went back outside or that they got OVERheated and died from that rather than the cold.

It's also possible that someone somewhere left them sitting in a drafty place on a loading dock. I've even seen people pick up boxes of chicks and shake them (not delivery people but idiot customers at feed stores)

so ideal called at 6 am (time differences make life so FUN ) and we have a chose of refunding or getting our new chicks, we refunded and they prolly died (according to them and i agree) that people opened the box, set them on heater vents and did stuff they werent supposed to do

ya the post office lady said "ya we put live chicks under a heat lamp and give them fresh water" and ideal said "ya they can over heat them if they put them under a heater" wasnt ideals fault, it was the post office!!!!

Oh I would be sooo mad! I knew it was something like that! People that know nothing about chickens need to keep their hands off them and do their job which is simply to call the owner to come pick them up!

Wouldn't it be nice if the PO new what to do? After all it's our taxes. Maybe some kinda shipping standard.
Geesh, their living breathing animals.
