Thank you for posting you coop. My name is Rick and I live In Los Angeles. I live in a crowded suburbs. I do have a big back yard (Big for LA). I want to start a chicken coop. I am a full blown city boy and have no idea how to start, I have read many of the posting but still have some basic questions. By listing them it is my hope that I can get some answers,

Why do chickens need a chicken coop?
Can I raise chickens in my yard without a separate space?
I have three dogs, can they cohabitate?

Why do chickens need a chicken coop? So they will not get eaten by coons, foxes, etc.

I do not understand what you mean by that question.
I have three dogs, can they cohabitate? Most likely not .There would be a lot of complications with that.

Thank you for the info

What I meant by separate area is do they need to be separated in my yard or can I let them roam free. I think you answered this question already.
What bread of hen would you suggest?

What a great coop and run. I love the weathervane!
