Our house burnt... But I'm back to BYC

Our house burnt down 2 years ago. I fought over the amount for 5 months. Their first offer turned out to be half of what it finally cost. We also had full replacement on our policy plus ALA. alternative living arrangement. I don't think I would let them off that easily. Get an attorney. No court is going to believe that someone would insure a barn for 80,000. I also don't belive a insurance company would do a policy that large on a standered barn.
Do you have a copy of the policy?

My heart goes out to you ! I was in your position 2 years ago when our house burned down in the middle of the night., what a nightmare the Insurance companies were , the fight was long and bitter.
hang in there, get a lawyer do not let them off that easily , you have paid for insurance you are entitled to reimbursment.

Sorry I haven't been back to this sooner. We have had a very busy few weeks and just can't find the time to get everything done I need to especially on the computer.

Our insurance settled last week with our 15,000 I got in Monday and applied it to our loan, now we are going to have to have my parents give me an additional piece of land so that our place will appraise to get the house we want. We are waiting on loan approvals to, we found better rates than our original loan which jumped a considerable amount of percentage for some reason.

In the meantime we are just sitting tight hoping everything works out for the absoulte best.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers!
