I have to show you my flock they are crazy funny and there is a lot of them I think I have them all

Wrold is one of my tiny Wyandotte bantams.
All the girls from my last buy got Celtic names.
The Campines are Irish Queens: Morrigu, Aoife & Medh.
The Aracaunas are Scots: Beatha & Mhari.
The bantams got Pictish names as a sort of in archaeological/mythological joke:
Alpia & Wrold.

I love the names! I named my chickens with the first letter of the breed! My Sapphire Olive Egger was supposed to be a Marans, I never did think she was, her name is Madeline and it fits her, so I won't be changing it! She's beautiful!

Cover your nest boxes at night if you dont want them in there

I can't get into the coop very easily right now as we have some temporary ventilation set up in the doorway because it's been so hot! I would have to disassemble it and put it back together! We will have a better set up next year. I could probably do something from the outside of the nesting boxes, but I wouldn't get out early enough to open it up for the ladies when they are ready for them!

I very occasionally get random eggs dropped in the coop or run ~ usually a beginning layer who hasn't quite got things worked out yet~ so I will take all sorts of nesting box antics over running the gauntlet after a stray egg.

I'm dealing with the random egg issue, once in awhile I find one in the enclosed pen and sometimes on the floor of the coop! Just when I think they all have it figured out, they laugh and say fooled you!

I've noticed my chickens panting when they are getting ready to lay their eggs, it must be like going into labor every day, poor things! I wonder if that's where Lamaze training for women getting ready to go into labor came from...

This is what I did to battle the summer heat then I have inserts that fit in the frame for winter my flock loves it
