Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I was just joking with you anyway...I will have no problem eating them...I'm definitely not a vegetarian...šŸ˜‰ That is a crazy length of fence, but no predators would definitely make it hard to keep the numbers down, after all they breed like rabbits...:lau
When I was a kid, my father was an avid hunter. He would bring game home and Mom would clean it and cook it. Rabbits and pheasants mostly, sometimes a duck. My Mom was a good cook, and it all tasted good!

When my boys were little and my mom would come to visit, she'd spoil them rotten. They took to calling her Grandma Visa :gig (I'm not sure my dad thought it was as funny as the rest of us, he's the one that would get stuck with the bills.)

My in-laws saw my kids a lot more since they lived in the same town as us. The kids called them the Real Grandma & grandpa.
That's hilarious! Kids can be so creative! šŸ’ž

I LOVE how you have so many pretty eggs!:thumbsup
Thank you! I love my eggs too, they are exactly what I was hoping for! :)

My husband and boys used to hunt quite a bit! Mostly pheasants & ducks and sometimes goose & grouse, a few times they would get Chucker...it's my favorite game bird, so tasty, but hard to get to! :)

Good morning all! My girl came out of the coop for the morning treat, but when that was gone, she headed back into the coop  I just don't know, but she hasn't started to look sick, her feathers aren't ruffled, I wasn't sure about the position of her tail feathers, in the coop they are down a bit more, outside they are more upright! Hopefully she'll snap out of what I really believe is broody behavior...today I'm not as worried as I was...time will tell!

My grandmother name is ā€œGabaā€
I adopted it from my own Gaba who got her name from my baby brother who couldn’t say Grammy for some reason. It always came out ā€œGabaā€. Soon we all just called her that. She really liked it.
So now I am Gaba in her memory.
Aawww, sweet! That’s why I want to be called Goosie ā¤

I forgot to mention that we fish too, but we don't get biggies like that...those are amazing! I'm seeing a catfish, but what are the other two?
I think Drum... I know... it’s so crazy what they catch off the docks! My son grabbed an alligator right out of the water last weekend! A small one, mind you... but still! Probably about two and half feet!
