So if I ever do get a rooster it would be good to wait until my girls are at least a year old, maybe. If I am ever in a position where I need a rooster I am going to Shad for advice 1st. He has a number of roosters. They don't always get along but mostly they do & they respect him. I know it helps if a young cockerel has a mature *good* rooster to teach him, or lacking that mature hens who will put him in his place & teach him manners. The problem I see a lot is people have new, young flocks & the boys get rowdy [as boys do] & there's no~one who knows how to pull them in line. Not the chicken's fault but they pay the price.

They were also super aggressive. Best watch dogs ever but they couldn't stay.
