My husband and I put this hoop house up to raise 50 meat birds. We’ll be putting up fencing so they will be able to free range when they’re older. We gave it a General Store facade to make it more appealing.
This winter we’ll plant some greens and cold crops in it.
Both sides roll up four feet and those four feet are covered in 1” fencing. The outside perimeter has a 22” in skirt surrounding it. We have shade cloth to put up if it gets too hot but even on the hottest days it’s been nice in there with the sides open.
This has been a fun project!
Oh…this is the third year that we got chicks from Freedom Hatchery. I am so impressed with them! The first year we got Freedom Rangers. The next time, those weren’t available so we got Kosher Kings. I went with the KK again, but I loved both!
