Over 72 hours in the mail

Aww Congrats to you and your family they are adorable. Your going to have more babies too that is awesome.. sure hope little chick makes it sounds hopeful. Honestly I’d pick up some poultry nutridrench it’s such a good product for shipped or just hatched babies. Goes straight into the blood stream.

@Miss Lydia i just bought the last Nutridrench at TSC. He doesn’t weigh much, not sure even 2oz. Would it hurt to do one drop directly in his mouth?

Heading home with it now. Hubby moved him out of the brooder and has him on the rice sock. Will set up a brooder for him when I get home. Ducks were duckpiling him and picking at him.

Thanks so much! He’s had a drop. If he survives the night, I’ll go get him some friends from RK tomorrow. They have lots of cool breed pulleys vs TSC’s very limited selection. Really didn’t want chickens right now (bad experience with mycoplasma our first time with chickens) so I was doing the hardier ducks this time

I think he’s about to give up. He keeps crawling away from the warm sock, and now he’s sprawled out with his legs behind him and opening his beak in a “gasping” manner ever few seconds . The goslings and ducklings are all cuddled up and in bed it appears.

@DuckyDonna I don’t think this is Ideal’s fault. And maybe not even USPS fault. It’s entirely possible there only one shipment from Atlanta to Montgomery daily. Hubby thinks they arrived in Atlanta a few hours after the flight or truck for Montgomery left, we know they sat in Atlanta for 18 hours. I assume they sat in the truck in Montgomery for 10+ hours but it’s possible they were inside a building. But USPS tracking said they would arrive the 8th and they didn’t, so I’m blaming them, whether it was just a series of bad timing or not.

Well if you ever order from then again I'm only 30-40 minutes from Atlanta. I'll go get them for you and you can come to my house and get them! I'm only about 30 miles from Alabama! This just makes me sick as I'm sure it does you!

Well, my little chickie passed away about two hours ago :( We're sad, but glad he isn't suffering. I suspect FTT because he was way tinier than the RK chicks that they received today. I'd thought he was a banty maybe, but the ID forum said RIR probably. My son and I just did some searching about Rouen vs Mallard ducklings, and I think we have a Rouen, s/he's got two very defined dark stripes on the face and lots of dark on his tummy. The rest of the crew seems to be thriving, so I'm extremely grateful for that. Hubby was being silly and put one of the goslings on the floor and it chased our Shih-Poo around the kitchen. (No worries, we were right beside to grab if needed, but we introduced earlier and she only had mild curiosity. Our GSD pup got a peck on the nose so he's not too interested in them, either, right now) They've tucked themselves into the Mama Cave and seem to be settling in for the night. It's been a rough few days, so here's hoping it's downhill from here!
